LAHORE  -  The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Faculty of Media and Communication Studies (FMCS), University of Central Punjab (UCP). According to a press release issued here on Friday, the MoU sets forth terms of understanding between the FMCS and the WCLA to cooperate in the fields of communication, media and tourism in the walled city Lahore. Objectives of the MoU between the two include creating awareness about tourism of walled city through different modes of communication, facilitating students in academic activities and exchanging expertise of communication. In this regard, the WCLA and FMCS will mutually work on creating documentaries on various topics related to culture, heritage and monuments. Students of the university will be taken to different sites in the walled city for their projects which will be publicised by the WCLA. Students of the FMCS will also extend help in public relations campaigns of the WCLA, and they will prepare documentaries of heritage as their final year projects. WCLA Director General Kamran Lashari said that students were the most important part of society. “We welcome this young lot to the WCLA for working with us on our projects. This way we will have new ideas and, on the other hand, students will get close to their heritage and culture. It is high time that students become a part of heritage and culture so that they get close to their roots.”
