UK Lord calls Sikhs For Justice leader a Pakistani agent

The Chairman of the British Sikhs Association and the ruling Tory Party’s Lord Rami Ranger has called Sikh For Justice’s General Counsel Mr Gurpatwant Singh Pannun a Pakistani for his campaign for the creation of an independent state for Sikhs called Khalistan.

Appearing in a debate on the popular Indian channel Republic TV for the “The Debate” show, the millionaire British Indian businessman hit out at the Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) and its main leader Mr Gurpatwant Singh Pannun who has already been declared a “terrorist” by the India state over his activism for the state of Khalistan.

It is believed that Sikhs For Justice will be taking legal actions over the serious allegations.

A total of nine panelists took part in the debate which discussed “4 threat calls in 3 days” and incited Mr Rami Ranger at the start of the show to comment on activities of SFJ in the UK where the group operates freely and legally.

The show anchor asked the senior Sikh politician Lord Ranger that why is it that the UK govt has taken no action against the SFJ and Mr Pannun at the diplomatic level despite the fact that the group has been involved in highly offensive things including inciting Sikhs to take up arms against the Indian state. The anchor also said that the Khalistan Referendum held in 2021 in the UK was also provocative and should never have been held.

Responding to the anchor, Lord Rami Ranger said: “First of all I would like to condemn what this Sikhs For Justice are doing.”

Speaking about the role of Mr Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, Lord Rami Ranger said that Mr Pannun was “an ISI agent who is getting lots of money from them (the ISI)”.

The TV channel displayed pictures and videos of Mr Pannun throughout the discussion to show the audience who the show was about. The pictures and videos showed Mr Pannun, who calls himself a New York Attorney, on the screen doing his activities.

Lord Rami Ranger said that Gurpatwant Singh Pannun was “really a dangerous man” who “doesn’t realise the consequences” of his actions against India.

Speaking to Times Now channel on January 14, Lord Rami Ranger declared that Pannun was a “threat to peace” and the Indian government should take action against him.

Lord Rami Ranger told Times Now about Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, General Counsel of SFJ, and the organisation itself that no Sikh will do what SFJ is doing. He said: “No Sikhs will make such comments which will have repercussions for his fellow Sikhs in India and outside Punjab and in Punjab. Therefore, I don’t think he’s a real Sikh, who has no welfare of Sikhs at heart.”

Earlier in an interview, Lord Rami Ranger had said that Mr Pannun and his fellows were misleading the Sikh public because they wanted to take donations from Gurdwaras in the West.

He had said that people like Pannun were getting help from the enemies of India.

Lord Rami Ranger, who is the highest profile critic of SFJ and Pannun, has said that Mr Pannun believes in destroying the diversity of Punjab by making Sikhs and that Pannun will be arrested and lynched if he landed in India.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun didn’t respond to questions.
