TOBA TEK SINGH - The Gojra Press Club office-bearers and newsmen staged a protest hunger strike camp in Malkanwala Chowk at Gojra against the City Police failure to register a case against Gojra THQ hospital medical officer Dr Waseem Hayat who had allegedly attacked two newsmen Gulzar Baig and Haji Sadiq and had broken their cameras when they were making movie of an injured girl in hospital the other day. While addressing the gathering, Toba Press Club President Manzoor Naz, Gojra Press Club President Arshad Nasir, Labour Party leader Tariq Mahmood and senior journalists including Latif Sahu, Saqib Butt, PPP Gojra President Ghulam Muhammad Lala and others demanded immediate registration of a case against the accused MO. RICKSHAW DRIVER, TMA STAFF RALLY: The rickshaw drivers and TMA employees took out a joint rally on Thursday which was led by Jamaat-e-Islami leader Dr Zahid Sattar to press the government accept their demands. Addressing the participants, speakers demanded the allotment of rickshaw stand for rickshaws and plots for TMA employees. TMO Tariq Mahmood Paroya assured the rally participants that their demands would be conveyed to the higher authorities for acceptance. TMA CBA employees union president Muhammad Yousaf also addressed the protesters. FOREST GUARD PLUNGES INTO WELL: A forest department guard Khalid Mahmood fell into a 50 feet deep well near Chak 150/GB Thursday morning during rain. He was on his way to a village and due to rain he failed to see the well and fell into the well along with his motorcycle. Rescue 1122 staff pulled him out and shifted to DHQ hospital in critical condition. LAID TO REST: Mother of Tehreek-e-Insaf Labour Wing Tehsil Chief Waqas Latif was laid to rest on Thursday in Chak 279/JB Darapur while his aunt was buried in Chak 397 JB. Both the women were killed in road accident near Pindi Bhattian on Wednesday night while his uncle Sajid and his two cousins were injured severely and were under treatment in a hospital.
