QUETTA - A Pesh Imam was shot dead in the provincial capital by unidentified armed men on Thursday. According to police, a Pesh Imam, Maulvi Abdul Kareem, was coming out of his residence located at Rahim colony Chaman Pattak when two armed men riding a motorbike opened indiscriminate firing on him. As a result, he received several bullets wounds and succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital. The deceased was shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta. 'Investigations are underway to ascertain motive behind the murder, a senior police officer said. Police handed over bodies to heirs after completing legal formalities and started further investigations into the incident. Militants blow up gas pipeline Militants blew up a main gas pipeline in Jaffarabad district on Thursday, suspending gas supply to different nearby areas. According to sources, unknown militants had placed explosive device beneath a 16-inch diameter gas pipeline near Goth Khan area of Dera Allahyar, tehsil of Jaffarabad district. The explosive went off with a big bang and badly damaged the gas pipeline, suspending gas supply to a nearby area.
