LAHORE Punjab University on Thursday awarded PhD degrees to Tanvir Hussain in the subject of Chemistry after approval of his research thesis entitled Synthesis and Characterization of Biologically Active Imidazole Derivatives, Shahid Mahmood Ramay in the subject of Solid State Physics after approval of his research thesis entitled Fabrication, Characterization and Structural Study of Ferrites of Technical Importance, Sher Zaman Dhool in the subject of Education after approval of his research thesis entitled The Relationship Among Cognitive Level, Moral Reasoning and Academic Achievement of Secondary School Students, Raafea Tafweez Kuraishi in the subject of Anatomy after approval of her research thesis entitled Effects of Folic Acid on Chlorpyrifos Induced Teratogenecity in Developing Mice, Attique ur Rehman in the subject of Molecular Biology after approval of his research thesis entitled Understanding the Mechanism of Hearing Through Genetic Approach and Muhammad Hashim Raza in the subject of Molecular Biology after approval of his research thesis entitled Genetic Studies on Stuttering Families. The students completed their thesis under the supervision of Prof Dr Hamid Latif Siddiqui of PU Institute of Chemistry, Prof Dr Saadat Anwar Siddiqi of PU Centre of Excellence in Solid State Physics, Dr Nasir Mahmood Chairman PU IERs Department of Research and Evaluation, Dr Asmatullah of PU Department of Zoology, Prof Dr Shaheen N Khan of PU Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology and Prof Dr S Riazuddin of PU Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology, respectively. PU IBA gets honour: Punjab University Institute of Business Administration (IBA) was awarded the Asias Second Best Business School Award at a ceremony held in Singapore. The PU statement issued on Thursday stated that the IBA Director Professor Dr Ehsan Malik received the award Innovation Leadership on July 22. PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran congratulated Ehsan Malik on the distinction, saying that the Director had rendered great services for the Institute to promote quality education. According to the statement, the CMO Asia Advisory Board and the Advisory Council of World Brand Congress performed the task of identifying Asias Best Business Schools and the organisation covered the 29 countries of Asia. The jury for the award comprised 15 renowned experts. The organisation adopted a comprehensive procedure for selection of the Award and identified professionals to collect qualitative information.
