SAN ANTONIO, Texas (AFP) - A US soldier was arrested near the Texas base that was the scene of a deadly shooting rampage in 2009, police said Thursday, with a report saying that authorities feared a new attack plot. The soldier was arrested Wednesday after authorities received a call about a suspicious person at a budget hotel less than a mile from Fort Hood, police said. Carroll Smith, a police spokeswoman in nearby Killeen, Texas, said the soldier had gone missing from duty at Fort Campbell base in Kentucky. She did not identify the man, who has not yet been charged. Fox News said that two other soldiers had also raised concerns, after earlier reporting that they had been arrested.
