FAISALABAD - Punjab Food Secretary Irfan Ali said that on the directions of Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif, atta 10-kg bags will be provided at the rate of Rs210 and 20-kg bag at Rs415 in all 325 Ramazan bazaars across the province. He said that sasta atta bags will also be available at the same subsidised rates in the open market. The provincial secretary said that quality wheat would be provided to the flour mills for the production of white and high quality flour and he would visit the flour mills personally to check the quality of flour. He expressed the views while discussion Ramazan bazaars arrangements in Faisalabad division with Commissioner Tahir Hussain at his office on Thursday. DCO Naseem Sadiq, DD Food Sardar Saifullah Juia and DFC Muhammad Taufiq were present on the occasion. The Punjab Food secretary said that stern action would be taken against the profiteers and any official found involved in any kind of corruption or irregularities would be dealt according to the rules. He said that sugar and atta on subsidized rates in Ramazan bazaars would provide without any hurdle while effective arrangements had been made in this regard. He directed the officials of the Food Department for the implementation of Ramazan package in letter and spirit. The meeting was told that one million and 28000 bags would be provided in Ramazan bazaars while 2.3 bags would be provided through the open market. The Commissioner told that effective arrangements for setting up Ramazan bazaars at district and tehsil level had been completed and monitoring system for prices of daily-use items had been finalized.
