RAHIM YAR KHAN  -  Bahawalpur Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen, accompanied by Regional Police Officer Rai Babar Ali visited Rahim Yar Khan on Saturday to thoroughly assess the security and administrative arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram. During their visit, the officials received detailed briefings on the district’s security measures and procession routes, and personally inspected central Imambargahs, key procession paths, the district control room, and the Safe City office. The delegation also met with event organizers and peace committee members to discuss the ongoing arrangements and gather feedback.

Deputy Commissioner Khurram Pervaiz, together with District Police Officer Irfan Ali Samo, outlined the security and administrative plans. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Irfan Anwar, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Hanan Khan, Administrator Officer Riyasat Ali, District Health Officer Dr. Liaqat Chauhan, and other relevant officials were present during the inspection.

Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen highlighted the importance of unity and harmony during the first ten days of Muharram. She stressed that, following the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, comprehensive administrative and security preparations have been finalized throughout the division. She noted that cleanliness, patchwork, and lighting have been ensured along all procession routes. Health camps and refreshment points (Sabeels) will remain fully functional, with an extra supply of ORS available due to the prevailing heatwave. Mobile public toilets have also been installed to facilitate mourners as per the Chief Minister’s instructions.

She further advised that police and district administration teams are performing their duties proactively. While visiting Imambargahs, she urged event organizers to keep their volunteers vigilant and to maintain close cooperation with law enforcement. She also instructed that alternative routes be provided and widely publicized wherever main roads are closed for processions, and that these should be reopened for public use as soon as events conclude.

Regional Police Officer Rai Babar Ali reiterated that all institutions are mobilized to safeguard national security and public order. He assured that foolproof security measures are in place for all processions, gatherings, and places of worship. He emphasized strict adherence to scheduled timings and designated routes, and confirmed that all events will be monitored through CCTV cameras linked to the district control rooms and the Punjab Home Department. He called upon the public to remain vigilant, keep an eye on suspicious activities, and immediately report any concerns to the police.
