KARACHI: Provincial Minister Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that Sindh Health Department in collaboration with USAID is striving hard to enhance health care facilities in Sindh and many health care projects are being run with logistic and technical support of USAID.

This he said while talking to US Counsel General Brian Heath in a call on meeting in his office. The Health Minister discussed with US Counsel General regarding prevalent situation in Thar and Mr. Brian expressed his satisfaction over measures taken by the Health Department and also extended his cooperation for further improvement in the area.

He informed the Health Minister that he had visited Thar himself and found satisfactory healthcare arrangements at Civil Hospital Mithi. Mr.Dahar told US Counsel General that due to 18th amendment the powers had been delegated to the provinces,  however,  the funds had not been released to the provinces that situation caused hurdles in completion of the projects.

The Health Minister added ' All over Sindh health care facilities are improved and establishing Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences is a land mark and it would cater the needs of patients of not only interior Sindh and Balochistan as well'.
