Justice Yahya Afridi, Chief Justice Peshawar High Court, reclaimed himself from hearing the treason case against former President General (r) Pervez Musharraf.

He recused himself from the bench after Musharraf's lawyer objected to his inclusion, saying Justice Afridi was former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry's lawyer.

He was indicated as the lawyer of former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry by Musharraf’s counsel.

He said that he never remained the lawyer of Justice Iftikhar but he was among the petitioners in the case against Musharraf's Nov 3, 2007 emergency.

The hearing of the high profile treason case was to be resumed today but was abolished by the head of the bench, Justice Yahya Afridi.

Other members of the bench are Justice Tahira Safdar of Balochistan High Court and Justice Yawar Ali, Chief Justice Lahore High Court.
