Business delegation visits Canada


ISLAMABAD - Minister of State/ Chairman Board of Investment Saleem H. Mandviwalla is leading a business delegation to Canada on Tuesday (29th May-2nd June) to promote bilateral investment and joint ventures leading to enhanced trade between Pakistan and Canada.
The Canada-Pakistan investment promotion conference is a joint endeavour of the Board of Investment (BoI) and the Canadian High Commission (CHC), Islamabad and supported by Grant Thornton Pakistan as well as the Canada Pakistan Chamber of Commerce, a Canadian NFP organisation to support bilateral trade and investment between the two countries. This Pakistan-Canada Investment Promotion Mission follows immediately negotiations in Ottawa on 29th May for a bilateral investment treaty
The main activities of event are: Two-day event for the 31st May and 1st June 2012 has been timed to take advantage of some important events taking place around these dates such as finalisation of Pakistan-Canada BIT/FIPA (28th - 29th May), a half day briefing on finance, investment and economics on 30th May, an agribusiness meeting on 4th June.
The sectors which are identified with the best potential towards trade and investment are oil and gas, power, agriculture, aviation, banking and franchising.
