PM to attend Paris climate summit tomorrow

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will attend the opening ceremony of United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris tomorrow (Monday).
He will directly fly to France from Malta where he attended the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
Briefing newsmen in Islamabad about the mega event in Paris, Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid said Prime Minister Sharif would also deliver a speech at the leaders’ event on Monday and would highlight Pakistan’s concerns and vulnerability to the prevailing and future threats posed by climate change particularly to South East Asia.
The prime minister would also refer to the recent earthquake and floods in the region mainly due to the drastic climatic changes taking place around the globe and its negative impact on the region particularly the agriculture sector which had suffered a loss of billions over the past several years.
