KARACHI - Dr M Ameen Khan Homeopathic Clinic will hold a free medical camp in Pakistan Steel’s residential area Gulshan-e-Hadeed on Sunday.

Being arranged under the umbrella of Young Homeopathic Doctors Association, this free camp will start at 11:30 A.M. and will continue till 3:00 P.M. Registration of the patients will begin by 10:30 A.M.  The venue is A-1523, phase-I, told a young doctor Shahid Babar.

Former federal minister Abdul Hakim Baloch will inaugurate the camp. Hundreds of patients were expected to visit the camp where they would get free check up and medicine, he said.

He said the association had been very actively engaged in welfare activities in health sector throughout the country. It also holds seminars and lectures for new homeopathic doctors.

On this occasion, former chairman of the association Javed Shah demanded that instead of National Council of Homeopathy, the examinations of Homeopathy doctors be held under National Testing System (NTS) or any university of health science to ensure quality and stop cheating.

Javed Shah and Shahid Babar also urged that four year degree course for homeopathic doctors be recognized by Higher Education  Commission (HEC) as Graduation ; Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine.

Some universities had started such programmes, but wrapped up later on, he pointed out adding that these should be revived rather promoted further, Javed Shah said.

“The poor as well as rich are benefitting from homeopathy. But, this very important sector was not being dully taken care of,” Shahid remarked.
