KARACHI - Pakistan Green Building Council, the sole representative of the World GBC in Pakistan, gave Green Excellency Awards to individuals and organizations committed to advancing green building design, construction and operation practices in Pakistan.
The awards were given at a ceremony held at the conclusion of Pakistan Green Build Expo and Conference at Expo Centre Karachi.
The DHA City Karachi (DCK), an upcoming residential project on Super Highway, was selected for the Green Excellency Award for show casing sustainable design and demonstrating leadership in transforming the building industry in Pakistan, a DHA statement said on Friday.
It said that the Administrator DHA Karachi, Brig Shahid Hassan Ali, was given the coveted Award in a ceremony for demonstrating outstanding leadership qualities under the category of sustainability (encompassing sustainable building design, safe construction and energy conservation practices) and for his commitment to the goal of building a healthy, vibrant and sustainable future for the country.
The award was a befitting recognition of DHA as a progressive organization in the field of land development and town planning committed to bring a paradigm shift in community living concept, the DHA statement added.
The awards were also given to Project Director DCK Brig ® Muhammad Rafique and project consultant/architect DCK Atif I Osmani in recognition of accomplishment of the sustainable project.
