Interior Minister takes notice of shooting, orders arrest of culprits.

KARACHI    -   A Chinese doctor was gunned down while two others including a woman sustained injuries when a gunman, not identified yet, opened fire inside a dental clinic in Karachi’s Saddar area on Wednesday.

Police sources revealed that the victims hold dual nationalities of Pakistan and China. “Attacker entered clinic as a patient and waited for a tooth filling. Victims have been shifted to Jinnah Hospital,” an official said late Wednesday.

SHO Preedy Police Station while confirming the incident said that a 32-year old Ronald Raymond Chou was killed while Dr HU Richard and his wife Margaret were injured. The conditions of both the husband and wife were out of danger.

Dr HU Richard along with his wife Margaret was running a dental clinic in Saddar for the past many years. Ronald Raymond Chou who succumbed to injuries was apparently working in the clinic as a technician.

SSP South Asad Raza said that seven shells of 9mm were found from the crime scene. He said that the deceased and the injured persons had dual citizenship. The SSP South said that the attacker came to the clinic as a patient and remained there for quite a long time getting dental treatment.

DIG South said that from the initial investigation, it seemed that the aim of the shooter was to target Chinese citizens, adding that actual reason will be determined after the arrest of the accused.

Meanwhile, in CCTV footage an accused wearing a black pant and shirt and a red cap can be seen running out the clinic while the traffic was moving on the road.

The dead body was shifted to Dr Ruth KM Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi and the injured were rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the Additional IG Karachi.

The Chief Minister directed Additional IG Karachi to arrest the killer immediately and submit a report to him. He directed the police to arrest the culprit at the earliest.

He also expressed his anger over the attack on the dental clinic in Sadar where a Chinese man was killed as a result of firing while Chinese Dr. H.U Richard and his wife were injured. Murad said that the relations between Pakistan and China were fraternal and an unsuccessful attempt was being made to sabotage them under some conspiracy.

He said that such incidents were intolerable and no one can be allowed to disturb the law and order.

The Chief Minister said that the peace of the province was restored after great sacrifices so that people can live their lives peacefully and the province can develop.
