FORMER chief justice Abdul Hameed Dogar has decided to challenge the constitutional status of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in the Supreme Court. Talking to a private TV channel, Malik Abdul Qayyum, counsel for former CJ Dogar, said the Supreme Court decision of July 31 would be challenged but the matter is on the anvil yet. However, he said it had not been finally decided to challenge the constitutional position. The pivotal point under discussion is that Abdul Hameed Dogar was the Chief Justice, both legally and constitutionally. Since this is a Supreme Court decision, the petition would be filed there. More than 15 judges have already filed different petitions there, Qayyum said.
