LAHORE - The 8th edition of KC Indus Pharma National Seniors & Juniors Tennis Championship rolled into action on Sunday at Karachi Club. According to Karachi Tennis Association President M Khalid Rehmani, the matches were decided in different age group categories on the opening day. In the men’s singles qualifying round one, Bilal Khiyani beat Asaad Ahmed 8-4, Yasir Noman beat Ali Asif 8-3 and Saad Iqbal w/o Hassnain Ali while in the men’s singles qualifying round two, Hasan Godil beat Amir Mumtaz 8-2. In the U-16 singles qualifying round one, Mohriz Nasser beat Abdul Rehman 8-3, Hamen Parmer beat Rayan Ahmed 8-0 and Ahsan Ahmed beat M Bilal Siddiqui 8-0 while in U-16 singles qualifying round two, Mohriz Nasser beat Talha Afzal 8-0 and Soyam Kumar beat Hamen 8-4. In U-14 singles qualifying round one, Rayyan Dandia beat M Bilal Siddiqui 8-2 and Faiz Ilyas beat Syed Mahd Shehzad 3-5, 4-0, 5-4 while in U-14 singles qualifying round two, M Shees Hussain beat Rayyan Dandia 8-1. In U-12 singles qualifying round one, Aneeq Ahmed beat Emre Shazim 8-4, Syed Mahd Shehzad beat Khadija Admani 8-0, Aahil Imran beat M Shaheer Hussain 8-1 and M Ali Admani beat Ammar Hasan Raza 8-1 while in U-12 qualifying round two, M Ahmed (Hyderabad) beat M Ali Admani 8-3. The formal opening ceremony of the event will be held today (Monday) at 5pm at Karachi Club, where Saeed Ismail, Chairman Indus Pharma, will be the chief guest.
