FAISALABAD - Four people including a woman were killed in robbery and different incidents here on Thursday.
According to source, dacoity incidents are on the rise at Madina Abad, located in Raza Abad Police precincts and the locals are trying to maintain security arrangements on their own.
As per details, a local vigilante, Yaseen, was on the duty to guard the area, the other night, when some armed men opened indiscriminate fire on him, owing to which, he was killed on the spot. The people of the area protested against the negligence of police and blocked Jhang Road by burning tyres there.
In another incident, a poor labourer, Muhammad Ali, was loading sugar cane on tractor-trailer when some robbers tried to snatch the vehicle at adjacent village 607 GB. On offering resistance, the dacoits opened indiscriminate fire and killed Ali on the spot. Police have failed to trace out both the incidents.
It is reported that the rate of crime are increasing in the city and adjoining areas. During the last 24 hours, bandits have looted away heavy cash, cell phones, dozens of bikes, cars and ornaments in more than 80 successful hits of dacoity but police have failed to trace out even a single incident.
Resultantly, citizens and social circles protested against the police and demanded the CM to take notice of the situation.
Meanwhile, a man, Ghulam Rasool, was killed when two groups exchanged firing over a cable installation dispute at Islam Pura in the limits of Civil Lines Police. In another incident, the accused, Kashif, gunned down his sister Basit Bibi on suspicious of her character here at Chak 642 GB. The police, after registering a case, have started investigations.
