ISLAMABAD – Despite depressive economic situation of the country, the government is yet again all set to pay special additional pension to BPS-20 and above retired officers from Jan 01.
According to a notification issued by the ministry of finance on the basis of principle of equity and fairness, the competent authority has been pleases to approved that retired officers in BPS 20 and above shall be paid special additional pension. According to the notification whenever the government will revise the rates of orderly allowance in future, the same increase shall be made applicable to the special additional pension of the retired officers.
It further said the recommendation of pay and pension commission 2009, establishment division and request of retired government officers in BPS 20 in the above matter has been examined in finance divions intensely.
It is pertinent to mention here that federal government has also approved 35 per cent increase in the salaries and allowances of officers I management positions. The basic salary for MP-1 scale has now been fixed at Rs263, 000 per month, up by Rs68, 000 per month from Rs195, 000.
The maximum salary for MP-1 officers has been fixed at Rs324, 000 per month. Other perks like medical facilities, traveling and daily allowances, leave encashment and gratuity for all MP Officers will remain unchanged.
Before tax salary package of officers in MP-II has now been fixed at a maximum of Rs372, 230 per month. The basic pay for MP-II officers has been increased to Rs176, 000 per month from Rs130, 400 per month.
