N bigwigs flay proposed raise in petrol prices


SIALKOT - PML-N parliamentarians Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Zahid Hamid and Ehsan Iqbal have rejected the proposed hike in POL prices by the PPP-led government, saying that it would drive the last nail into the coffin of the national economy.
Addressing a meeting of party workers here, they said that the ratio of price hike had doubled during the last six months in the country. They said that the PPP government intended to grab the basic right to live from the people through the sky-rocketing price hike.
They said that price hike was causing suicides.
Talking to the newsmen, Jamaat-e-Islami Sialkot Ameer Hafiz Tahir Aslam, former MPA and Punjab Bar Council member Arshad Mehmood Baggu, President Shehar-e-Iqbal Welfare Forum Anwar Ali Khan, PTI Sialkot President Umer Farooq Mayere and human rights activist Shahid Mir Advocate, the President of District Bar Association, said that there was a big increase in the prices of daily use commodities.
They said that these problems could only be resolved through the early change of the country’s top leadership. They urged the government  to withdraw the recent increase in power tariff and make some effective and positive measures to control the sky-rocketing price hike and bringing down the graph of poverty, lawlessness, unemployment and terrorism.
MURDERER HELD: The Sialkot police have resolved a blind murder case after two days of the incident and arrested accused Amtal and her alleged paramour Akram from the outskirts of Wazirabad for killing her husband Nasir.
They had threw the dead body in fields near village Kotli Loharaan. DPO Sialkot Syed Ali Mohsin said on a tip off, the police raided there and arrested both the accused. He said that accused have confessed to kill her husband with the help of her paramour.
