KARACHI Local and provincial sports organisation of Sindh have condoled the death of two sports persons who died in the Airblue air crash in Islamabad on Wednesday. Zafar Saleem, a former pole vaulter from Karachi, and Misha Dawood, a woman footballer and a member of Diya womens football club, who were travelling in the ill-fated flight died in the crash. The Sindh and Karachi Athletics Associations have condoled the death of Zafar Saleem who graduated from NED University many years ago and was working as director general Workers Welfare Board. He was proceeding to Islamabad to attend official work. Misha Dawood had taken the flight for Islamabad to join Diya Club which is now appearing in the national football championship now in progress there. Misha, a former student of Karachi Grammar School, was studying abroad and was here on her annual vacation. She had not gone with Diya Club which recently flew to Islamabad and had planned vacation with her family. But she decided to go to Islamabad to help her club when she met the fatal accident. Local football fraternity has expressed its sorrow over the tragic accident which took the life of a talented footballer.
