Linkages between universities, industry to be improved: CS KP

Mardan - Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr Shehzad Bangash on Tuesday said that all resources would be utilised to improve the linkages between universities and industry.

Addressing the concluding session of a two-day international conference on economic policy decision-making organised by the Pakhtunkhwa Economic Policy Research Institute, he said that recommendations of the Pakhtunkhwa Economic Policy and Research Institute would be used to formulate economic policy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The conference was also attended by Secretary Finance Ikramullah Khan, Secretary Industry Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Secretary Planning and Development Shah Mehmood, former Special Assistant to Chief Minister Himayatullah, Vice-Chancellor of Abdul Wali Khan University Prof Dr Zahoorul Haq and Commissioner Mardan Division Syed Abdul Jabbar Shah.

Deputy Commissioner Mardan Habibullah Arif, Director Finance Dr Shaista Irshad and others also attended the conference and presented their recommendations regarding economic.

Shehzad Bangash said that universities need to focus on research and apply the research in different fields. He also congratulated the VC AWKU Prof Dr Zahoorul Haq and his entire team for organising successful conference. He said that after consultation with all departments and recommendations, a stable economic policy would be formulated.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zahoorul Haq thanked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and said the aim of the conference is to acquaint the students with the latest research. He said that a total of 60 research proposals are presented in the conference.
