LAHORE - Acting Vice Chancellor University of the Punjab Prof Dr Jamil Anwar has said that students of Institute of Communication Studies should fully equip themselves with the latest knowledge and emerging trends in the field of photo journalism to promote constructive media industry in the country. He expressed these views at the concluding ceremony of a two-day photo journalism workshop organised at the Institute of Communication Studies here on Saturday. The Dean Faculty of Behavioural Sciences Prof Dr Mughees uddin Sheikh, Director ICS Prof Dr Ahsan Akhtar Naz and resource person Frank Folwell also spoke at the function. Dr Jamil Anwar said the spectacular progress made by this profession has never been as impressive as it is today. He said in the present-day world, the media is almost dominating all aspects of the life of modern man. In view of this, the students of ICS should spare no efforts to attain mastery over the modern techniques of publicity and projection to successfully project a positive image of Pakistan in the comity of nations and to counter the onslaught of western media against the ideological frontiers of the country, he added.
