LAHORE – A self-proclaimed victim climbed up an electric pole to protest against the indecent attitude of the Sabzazaar police on Tuesday. Police had booked two person, brother and grandfather of Iqbal, under sections 7, 51 of PPC (household quarrels between relatives) couple of days back. Iqbal visited the police station to get them released but reportedly the police misbehaved and even kicked him out of the police station. On which, first he drunk kerosene oil and later sprinkled it over his body and climbed up the pole, threatening the policemen that he would set himself on fire. Police, after being informed, reached the spot and switched off the main electric line and safely rescued him.He was shifted him to the nearby hospital where his condition was critical. Further investigation is underway.
