Islamabad - The 12th China International SME Fair (CISMEF) would be held in October 2015 with the aim of boosting cooperation and development of SMEs in China and other countries and it is an ideal platform for Pakistani SMEs to attend the Fair and explore opportunities of business matchmakings with Chinese and other countries SMEs.
Liu Zhigen, Vice Governor, Guangdong Province of People’s Republic of China said this during his separate visits to Board of Investment and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Chinese entrepreneurs of SME sector have shown interest to establish business collaborations with Pakistani counterparts. SMEs were representing various sectors including economic, information technology and communications.
Addressing the local business community, Liu Zhigen, Vice Governor said that Guangdong Province was home to a lot of industries with matching facilities.
Liu Zhigen said Pakistani and Chinese businessmen should strengthen liaison in areas of mutual interest to promote bilateral trade and economic relations between the two countries. This way, they could also compete more effectively in the international market. He said entrepreneurs of both countries should share expertise, experiences and resources for mutual benefits. He said maximum number of Pakistani SMEs should visit China to attend 12th China International SMEs Fair and find out opportunities of business expansion and joint ventures. He also invited a delegation of ICCI to attend the said fair.
In his welcome address, Muzzamil Hussain Sabri, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry highlighted the investment potential in various sectors of Pakistan’s economy. He said that economy of Pakistan was in a recovery mode and time was ripe for Chinese investors to enhance investment in Pakistan, especially in energy, information technology, infrastructure development and exploration of natural resources. During the visit to Board of Investment, Iftikhar Babar, Secretary, BOI briefed the delegation about the available investment opportunities in Pakistan in all sectors of the economy specifically in power, energy, infrastructure, mining & minerals and machinery etc.
The Secretary, BOI informed that Pakistan is committed to provide an investment friendly regime to investors by offering lucrative fiscal incentives and conducive business environment to foreign investors.
The Secretary, BOI said that China and Pakistan have entered into a comprehensive plan of Pak - China Economic Corridor. Pakistan China trade and economic relations have a great scope for further expansion. Pakistan and China as strategic partners and have been cooperating in various fields of mutual interest. The recent visit of the Chinese President will further cement the existing relations and open new avenues of investment, trade and cooperation. All these strengths offer Chinese investors and business community unlimited business opportunities.
Liu Zhigeng, Vice Governor, People’s Government of Guangdong Province thanked BOI for cooperation and briefing regarding the investment opportunities available in Pakistan. Liu Zhigeng has shown keen interest in different areas of investment specifically in transport and information technology sectors. He also invited Secretary, BOI to participate in their incoming International Investment & Trade Fair in Guangdon, China.
