SHEIKHUPURA -The Punjab IG Prisons has suspended five jail staffers including Deputy Superintendent of Jail on charges of torturing a prisoner in district jail Sheikhupura.
According to details, Deputy Superintendent Jail Abdullah Niazi, Assistant Superintendent Zaka Ullah, Chief Checker Ahmad, Warden Badar and Imtiaz severely tortured a prisoner in district prison Sheikhupura the other day following recovery of contraband from him.  The prisoner after receiving severe wounds submitted an application to the IG Prisons to seek justice. After an impartial inquiry the jail staffers were found guilty and were subsequently suspended by the IG Prisons.
