POF ready to meet Qatar’s defence needs: Gen Omar

wah cantt-Qatari Minister for Defence Affairs, Dr Khalid Mohamed Al Attiyah along with an official delegation visited Pakistan Ordnance Factories yesterday.

The ambassador of Qatar also accompanied the delegation. On arrival at POF, Minister of Defence Affairs was received by Lt Gen Omar Mahmood Hayat, HI(M) Chairman POF Board, who introduced him with POF Board members and senior civil & military officials.

The chairman POF Board in his welcoming remarks told the delegation that POF is the premier defence organisation of the country which is not only meeting defence requirement of the armed forces of Pakistan but also exporting its products to more than 40 countries around the globe.

He further remarked that POF is ready to meet the requirement of all types of conventional arms and ammunition of Qatar.

Syed Naseem Raza, Executive Director Wah Nobel Group of Companies, in his detailed briefing told the delegation that POF is a gigantic defence production complex with 14 independent production units, 11 subsidiaries and total work force is more than 26,000. The POF’s industrial base is strong enough to undertake development and production of all most all types of conventional arms and ammunition.

Qatari Minister for Defence Affairs, Dr Khalid Mohamed Al Attiyah while endorsing his remarks in the visitors’ book mentioned: “I am happy to see what POF can do to make our world safe.”
