The federal cabinet on Friday termed the quality of old tablets purchased during the tenure of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as ‘substandard’.
In order to strengthen the security of the portal and eliminate the potential risk of data theft during cabinet sessions and other important meetings, the federal cabinet decided to buy 150 cutting-edge smart tablets.
Sources privy to the matter said that the cabinet has now decided to buy 150 new smart, innovative tablets for secretaries, staff members of the Prime Minister’s Office, and members of the Cabinet Division. It was also suggested to relax the restrictions on the import of machinery and equipment in order to pay for the new tablets.
As per sources, for this reason, a summary will be submitted to the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) for approval soon.
