PESHAWAR    -   Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Irrigation Arshad Ayub has said that the restoration work on Manda Headworks is ongoing on an emergency basis. The completion of this will solve the problems faced by the farmers in water supply.

He directed the Chief Engineer South to review the restoration work daily and complete it within fifteen days. He gave these instructions on the oc­casion of presiding over a review meeting regard­ing the ongoing restoration work in the South Zone of the Irrigation Department. Secretary Irrigation Muhammad Ayaz, Chief Engineer South Nasir Gha­foor and officials of the department attended the meeting.

In the meeting, the participants were given a de­tailed briefing on the restoration work in South Zone including Munda Headwork, CRBC, and Warran Ca­nal Tank.

The Minister while issuing directives regarding the early restoration of Munda Headwork said to carry out work round the clock on Munda Headwork and complete it within fifteen days. He further directed the Chief Engineer to supervise the restoration work daily.

In this way, he instructed to speed up the de-silt­ing process of the Warran Canal Tank and to take steps to ensure a timely water supply to the farm­ers. Chief Engineer South Nasir Ghafoor informed the meeting about the speed of the ongoing work in the South Zone, problems faced and progress so far.
