Cop shot injured in DI Khan attack

DI KHAN    -    Militants shot and injured a police constable as they fired at the gate of Daraban Police Station in DI Khan district on Thursday.

DI Khan police spokesman Imtiaz Ali said that the policeman Muhammad Ismail was on duty at the main gate of the Daraban Police Station when some militants fired at the police station.

As a result, the cop sustained bullet injuries. 

The cops retaliated to the attackers, who later fled the scene. The injured cop was rushed to the hospital where his condition was stated to be stable.

Meanwhile, a child was injured as a result of a toy bomb explosion in Chagharmati area in the suburbs of the provincial metropolis Peshawar.

Police officials said Umar, 8, saw a toy-like stuff and started playing with it, leading to an explosion. They claimed that in addition to other aspects of the inci­dent, the police were looking into the type of explo­sion that occurred.
