Deadlock in govt-farmers talks on power rates persists

ISLAMABAD   -   The deadlock persisted between the protesting farmers and the feder­al government over the former’s demands as interior minister here on Thursday, held talks with the representa­tives of the community. A delegation of Kisan It­ tehad, a representative body of farmers, met with Interi­or Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan at the Ministry of In­terior to present their de­mands. A statement issued by the Interior Ministry, quot­ing the interior minister said, Rana Sanaullah assured the representatives to resolve their issues. “The talks with the farmers will be taken se­riously,” he said, adding that deliberations are going on.
