ISLAMABAD    -    The opposition Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday blasted the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led federal government, claiming that latter’s move to conspire against former prime minister Imran Khan’s oust from power, was meant to exonerate themselves of corruption cases of billions of rupees.

Reacting strongly to PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz’s acquittal in a corruption case, PTI senior leadership stated that it was another dark day in the history of Pakistan, as people were neck-deep in inflation but graft cases of corrupt rulers were being dismissed on daily basis.

It said that the “cable of crooks” gathered against PTI chief Khan to send his government packing only to clear their names of massive mega corruption cases.

PTI secretary general Asad Umar said that inflation was soaring at alarming pace day by day because the “imported” government was busy in dismissing their mega corruption cases.

He said that these corrupt rulers had nothing to do with public interest as it was evident from the fact that this was the main reason to conspire against Khan to remove his government through foreign-backed conspiracy.

PTI senior vice president Fawad Chaudhry said that the state institutions have lost the nation’s trust and confidence. “Therefore, their decisions have no value in the people’s court either they gave decisions in favour or against someone.”

Fawad stated that it was beyond any doubt that today is another dark day in the history of Pakistan. “Now, the next question of the nation is that the judges should tell us that who owns the apartments worth billions of rupees in London, in which the Sharif family has been living for years?” he asked.

PTI secretary information Farrukh Habib said that Hussain Nawaz, son of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, had said that the beneficial owner of the London palace was Maryam and a fake trust deed was created in this connection. He blamed that they acquired NRO-II by appointing blue-eyed NAB prosecutor, adding that Pakistan was paying the price of regime change, as all the thieves were being released one after another. Farrukh went on to say that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam have not been able to give the money trail receipts of the London palaces till date. However, he said that they not only managed to get themselves acquitted of their cases, but also some people were commenting that the cases were false.
