Four-day event attracts top intl fashion designers, models and buyers

KARACHI - The second Karachi Fashion Week begins in the city today. The event supported by Ministry of Textile Industry and Ministry of Commerce, and organised by Excellent Events & Entertainment is being held at Pearl Continental Hotel. Karachi Fashion Week is Pakistans platform on International Fashion Week circuits joining Paris, Milan, New York, Sydney, London & India. This is a platform that encourages the business of fashion, awareness of fashion and infuses new and fresh talent in the industry. The main objective of this event is to encourage the Pakistani designers to use local textiles and crafts in their designs, and to boost the morale of local textile and apparel industry for the benefits of all. A large number of International fashion week circuits have listed Karachi Fashion Week 2010 in their calendar of fashion events. International fashion journals like Cosmoworld of Netherlands and Fashions Org and news websites have listed the event in their international calendar. Similarly, International electronic media from Netherlands and Germany have also confirmed their participation in the event, for projection of the soft image of the country and highlighting the true potential of the participating designers. Models from Malaysia and Bangladesh have confirmed their presence for the Karachi Fashion Week 2010 this year. These models will participate in collection shows, new generation shows and group shows to display the elegant styles and designs of the numerous Pakistani and international designers participating in the event. International fashion designers and buying houses from Malaysia, Bangladesh and India have also confirmed their presence for this event. They will cater to the needs of the local market along with bringing in their exquisite collections with hottest designs and drifts for future fashion seasons.
