Massive irregularities in PIA’s Indian office


LAHORE – Pakistan High Commission in India has pointed out irregularities in PIA’s Indian office on which PIA Finance Department and Human Resource have started inquiry against Manager Delhi, Ghulam Mustafa Sheikh, document available with The Nation revealed on Monday. The documents further revealed that the said manager used PIA letterhead frequently for the issuance of Pakistan visa to Indian Muslims/non-Muslims and charging amount from them at the rate of Rs4,000 to Rs5,000 up to Rs10,000 as per personality whereas visa fee is only Indian Rs15.
Pakistan High Commission has taken a very serious notice of these irregularities and is investigating the case through different agencies and soon the detailed report will be sent to PIA high-ups in Pakistan, sources in PIA added.
Sources also claimed that the national flag carrier also lost a case regarding rental building for PIA in India due to the malafide intention of Mustafa Sheikh, who changed lawyer of the airline without any reason.
The case was Abaskar Construction Company Vs PIA (Rental Case) Kailash Building. PIA lost this case due to change of lawyer by Deluu. Tried to settle the case out of court degree on PIA is Indian Rs 69,84,900 plus interest from 2001.Previously case was being dealt by reputed law firm of Delhi M/s Khaitan & Co. and the lawyer has been changed by Deluu and the case was given to Advocate Pankaj Bhatia, who lost the case in the second hearing.
