CCPO opens new police building

LAHORE - Capital city police officer Muhammad Amin Wains on Tuesday inaugurated new building of the Akbari Gate police station.

DIG (Security) Moeen Masood, DIG (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf, SSP (Admin) Rana Ayaz Saleem, SSP (Operations) Muntazir Mehdi, SSP (Discipline) Tariq Aziz, and Chief Traffic Officer Rai Ijaz Ahmad were also present on this occasion.

On this occasion, the CCPO said that several cases of minor dispute could be solved at the police station level through Alternate Dispute Resolution committees comprising elected representatives and notables of the area.

According to a press release, the old building was unable to provide safe working environment to cops that’s why officers were facing problems in their routine official matters. Personal interest of CCPO and the SSP admin can be seen in the result of new building of Akbari Gate Police Station, it added.

The CCPO urged the elected representative to play their part in getting rid of “Thana Culture”. 

He also appealed to the citizens to let the lawmen know of any suspected activity in their area.
