LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that purpose of celebrating International Day for Street Children was to sensitise the people and raise a strong voice for the rights of children living the life of a derelict.
In his message issued here Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that securing the future of street children was the priority agenda of Punjab government and all resources were being utilized for providing an atmosphere conducive to help them grow as educated and confident human beings.
Child Protection and Welfare Bureau, he mentioned, was working in an effective manner to give better future to street children and different facilities had been arranged in this department so that such children could be fully rehabilitated.
Like all other children, the street children were also a responsibility of the nation, and government was actively working for their rehabilitation through various educational facilities, he added.
Shehbaz Sharif said: “Provision of best education to children is key to bright future of nation. I am sanguine that Pakistan Muslim League-N government has ensured a bright and prosperous future for all the children through educational reforms.”
Similarly, he said, different steps had been taken to secure future of abandoned and stray children. “Today demands from us that all the line departments should play a proactive role for giving a purposeful life prospects to such children because they are our precious asset and a hope for the bright future,” he said and added that this mission required strong partnership between public and private sectors.
He said that all the segments of life should reiterate this commitment that they would continue to play a beneficial role for securing the future of children who were derelict.
PML-N worked for
prosperous Pakistan
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said the Pakistan Muslim League-N worked for prosperous, and peaceful Pakistan in its term.
“The speed with which energy projects have been completed is unprecedented in the 70 years history of Pakistan. The PML-N government has completed the energy projects before time and now the loadshedding has become the thing of the past,” the CM said in statement Tuesday.
He went on to say: “Projects have been completed in a very transparent manner with minimal costs. It is lamenting that past governments have made a cruel joke with the nation with regard to energy projects and plunged the nation into darkness by showing criminal negligence. On the other hand, we have laid the strong foundation of an illuminating Pakistan.
“When we came into power, the energy crisis was at its peak; the country was plunged into darkness and the nation was in a state of deprivation. We understood the seriousness of the matter and burnt the midnight oil to effectively deal with the energy challenge.
We started working on different projects of energy production on war footing and resultantly, these projects have been completed in a record period of time to rid the nation of load-shedding. We are thankful to Almighty Allah that our hard work, passion and commitments have bear fruit and load-shedding is ended now. He said that energy projects are of prime importance for economic development of the country and employment opportunities have been increased and people are more prosperous due to increase in energy production.”
