HYDERABAD - Sindh Minister for Works and Services Imdad Ali Pitafi has claimed that the provincial PPP government has achieved significant improvements in communication sector and launched numbers of roads schemes in every nook and corner of the province.

Addressing a news conference here at the office of the Chief Engineer Highways on Tuesday, the minister said that besides communication sector, the PPP government has also focused its attention for improvement in other sectors in accordance to party’s manifesto.

The provincial government fully believed in a strong road network system, he said and added that no development can be achieved without infrastructure and the government is striving in this direction on the directives of PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

He informed that the government has constructed 1713 kilometer road at a cost of Rs. 32 billion only in Hyderabad region. During the year 2014-2015, the government completed 14 schemes of 114 kilometers road while in 2015-2016, 48 road schemes measuring 317 kilometers been completed by the government.

During current financial year, he informed that the provincial government has so far completed 47 schemes of 762 kilometres of road. The Provincial Highways Department is launching a website on February 12, to provide information about the development work in all regions of the province, he informed.

Responding to a question, he said that PPP had never supported the violators of law.

The government has already issued directives to conduct inquiries of extra judicial killings occurred on the orders of Rao Anwar, he informed. The PPP is against all kinds of terrorism and never protected the terrorists, he maintained.

The PPP fully believed to serve the masses without any discrimination and launched peoples’ oriented projects in every nook and corner of the province, he added.

Replying to a question about formation of alliance against PPP, the minister said that such alliances were also formed in the past but the PPP has deep roots among the masses and they elected the party candidates whenever the elections were held.

The PPP candidates will also be elected in the next general elections with thumping majority in all over the country, he claimed.
