RAWALPINDI: Nine suspected patients of influenza A-H1N1, known as seasonal flu, were admitted in Holy Family Hospital and POF Hospital on Tuesday. 

District Health Officer (Prevention) Dr Abdul Jabbar said that the suspected patients of the seasonal flu were brought to different hospitals of the city whose blood samples were sent to the National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad for confirmation.  

He said that the report of their blood samples was being awaited whereas negative patients would be discharged after necessary treatment as the report arrives the next day, he added. 

To a question, he said that six patients were admitted at HFH and three at POF Hospital Wah Cantt. He said that people should take precautionary measures to avoid infection, adding that they should wash hands with soap and also avoid touching their eyes, nose or mouth as germs spread this way and try to avoid close contact with sick people.–APP
