RAWALPINDI- An Additional District and Sessions (ADS) judge Friday sentenced life imprisonment to a convict Khushi Muhammad for axing his wife to death in Kahota early this year. ADS judge Rana Muhammad Ali gave Khushi Muhammad 25 years imprisonment and impose Rs 100,000 as fine on him for murdering his wife Sabiha Bibi over the suspicion of her character. In case of non-payment of the fine, the convict has to undergo six months extra imprisonment. According to the prosecution, the convict killed his wife in the area of Kahota on January 2, 2008 with an axe as he suspected her of bad character. Police arrested Khushi Muhammad and recovered the weapon on the complaint of his in-laws. Meanwhile, a special judicial magistrate along with doctors of district headquarters hospital (DHQ) and area police exhumed the body of a newly married woman who died in mysterious circumstances in a far off village of Rawalpindi. Special Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Masood Janjua along with Dr Irfan and Dr Masooma of DHQ and Chontra police exhumed the body of Lishwar Rani in Saroba village on the application of the mother of the deceased Sughran Bibi. Specimen from different part of Kishwar's body were taken and sent them to a laboratory for medical examination to determine the cause of death, whether she died a natural death or not. According to the complainant her daughter was married to Nadeem of Saroba village few months ago and she was found dead in the house of her husband on May 9, 2008. Sughran Bibi said that the in-laws of her daughter buried Kishwar after informing her parents. In her complaint she said she was skeptical about the cause of her daughter's death and wanted exhumation of the body.
