Man shot dead in Gowalmandi

LAHORE - A 40-year-old man was shot and killed by three gunmen in Gowalmandi, police said yesterday. The fatal shooting triggered panic in the populated locality. 

Police said Yousaf was killed in a gun-attack which took place on the Chamber Lane Road late Sunday night. The gunmen managed to escape from the crime scene while the body was moved to the morgue for an autopsy.

The family told the police that Yousaf left the house after receiving a call on his mobile phone late Sunday.

Initial investigations revealed Imtiaz contacted the victim and asked him to come to a nearby street. Yousaf reached the nearby street where Imtiaz and his two other accomplices were waiting for him. They shot dead Yousaf after a brief altercation and fled on their motorcycles. Police investigators said Imtiaz had developed a dispute with Yousaf over some monetary issue. 

The police yesterday registered a murder case against Imtiaz and his two unknown accomplices and were investigating the killing with no arrest made yet.

DIES: A 40-year-old woman died when the boundary wall of an under construction house collapsed on her in the Ichhra police precincts.

Rescue workers pulled out the body after removing the debris. Local residents said the wall caved in during the thunderstorm in the wee hours of yesterday.

A police officer said that a case was registered against owner of the house where the construction underway. The police handed over the body to the victim’s family. Further investigations were underway.
