PESHAWAR    -   Peshawar police on Monday held a training for the minorities about body search and other measures so that they can work with the cops to ensure security in their worship places.

An official said that under the supervision of SP-Rural Nowsherwa Ali, DSP Luqman Khan led cops at security training events at churches located in rural division. The youths from the Christian community were imparted training on to how perform body search of visitors coming to the churches for various religious services.

Speaking on the occasion, Nowsherwan Ali said that besides Christians, other religious minorities would also be included in the trainings.

The official said that trainings were started in the wake of a recent meeting of Christian community delegation with Peshawar Police chief Ijaz Khan wherein the community requested the police official to train their youths on body search and other measures so that they can support police force in security of their worship places.

Meanwhile, more than 3kg crystal meth (ice) was recovered and 17 traffickers were arrested during raids in Hayatabad, cantonment and city areas.
