FAISALABAD    -   Two persons were shot dead over old enmity here in the area of Jhang bazaar police station.

Rescue 1122 spokesman said on Monday that one, Khizar Ali (20) ,son of Allah Ditta, was standing outside his house near Sughra hospital, Jhang road, when his rival shot at him. Khizar Ali and a 35-year-old unknown passer-by received serious bullet injuries and died on the spot, whereas the accused managed to escape from the scene.  The police took the bodies into custody and started investigation.

Man found dead

A man’s body was recovered from Rakh branch canal in the area of Mansoorabad Police Station.

Rescue 1122 spokesman said here on Monday that some passers-by spotted body of a middle aged man afloat on surface of Rakh branch canal, near Kashmir Bridge, and informed Rescue 1122.  Divers of Rescue 1122 fished out the body and handed it over to the area police which dispatched it to mortuary for postmortem .Investigation was underway for identification of the deceased man.

Six dacoits arrested, valuables recovered

The police on Monday claimed to have arrested six dacoits and recovered various items from their possession on Monday.  A police spokesman said Batala Colony police station officials conducted raids and arrested four accused, including Anwar, Bilal Hamza, Muhammad Umar and Muhammad Hussain. The police also recovered two motorcycles, Rs1 million, seven mobile phones, three pistols and other items.  Meanwhile, Gulberg police station officials also arrested Mohsin Ali and Akbar Ali besides recovering a motorcycle, two pistols and other items.

Domestic issue claims two lives

Two people were shot dead over a domestic issue in the limits of Factory area police station on Monday.

Rescue 1122 said the accused, Sultan Mahmood, opened indiscriminate firing on his brother-in-law Khizar over a domestic issue near Sugran Shafi hospital, Jhang Road.

As a result, Khizar died on the spot while an unidentified man also fell victim to the firing. Police shifted the bodies to a mortuary and collected forensic evidences from the spot. Police registered a case against Sultan Mahmood, Kaif Sultan, Liaqat Bhatti, Kashi and others.

35 beggars detained

Anti-beggary squad of social welfare department in a crackdown caught 35 habitual beggars from different road crossings during the last three days. According to official sources, the beggars were taken into custody from Jinnah colony, Satiana road, D-ground, Jamia Chishtia Chowk, outside Kutchehry Baazar,  Saleemi Chowk, Allied Hospital, Bilal Road, University Road, station Chowk etc.

The beggars were handed over to police for further legal action.
