Shahbaz pledges to hold probe

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is seemingly still in the state of shock over its election defeat in Rawalpindi as the would-be Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed his surprise over the party defeat in the city where people used to shower flowers on their leader Nawaz Sharif.
"For me, Pindi's defeat is unbelievable. This is the city of Nawaz Sharif where people love him a lot. How the defeat is possible in the city where N League has launched a number of development schemes and people showered rose petals on Nawaz Sharif. The defeat in elections will be probed on all levels," said Shahbaz while replying to the queries of a group of journalists at the residence of PML-N losing candidate for NA-56 Hanif Abbasi on Thursday.
"I am really depressed over the party loss in Pindi. I have asked Hanif Abbasi to collect the evidences that have led to the party's defeat in even the dominant areas," he maintained.
When asked about the public resentments over the party ticket awarded to Malik Shakeel Awan in NA-55, where N League's arch rival Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed won the seat, Shahbaz left the scene saying, "We will look into the matter. I am very thankful to people of Pindi for give vote to N League".
Earlier, Hanif Abbasi, while addressing a press conference at his residence, alleged that PTI deputed very "strange ladies" in all the polling stations of NA-56 who hijacked the polls by casting fake votes that led to his defeat against Imran.
He said that he had filed an application with Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in order to seek justice by checking the validity of the votes through thumb impressions.
He said that he had solid evidences that PTI rigged the polls massively in women polling stations and asked ECP to take notice of the issue.
He said that the women polling agents of PTI kicked out all the polling agents of PML-N and stamped on bat, election symbol of PTI. He also alleged that PTI filled all the ballot box with 30 to 70 votes before starting voting officially at all the polling stations.
Hanif, while replying to a question, said that there were some big wigs of PML-N who sat in the polling stations and urged voters to stamp on bat. "I have substantial evidences against this that will be provided to the party leadership," he said.
He ruled out the impression that N league defeated polls because of wrong polices of Ch Nisar Ali Khan saying "He is the leader with great wisdom who always did well for party".
When asked as if police after him in PTI's supporter murder case, he replied "I am moving freely in Rawalpindi. No body is arresting me. I am not involved in the murder case".
