Nasir Durrani made new KPK IGP



PESHAWAR - Nasir Durrani has replaced Ihsan Ghani as Inspector General Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a day after the deadly bombings at a church in Peshawar.
About 81 people lost their lives in the horrific attack while over 140 were injured.
A four member committee has been formed to the probe the attack. According to the initial report, the attackers were aged between 20-25.
According to media reports, Secretary Establishment Division Shahid Aziz had forwarded a summary to the Prime Minister in this effect, in which the names of three officers had been nominated for the post of IG KP police.
Nominees for the post of IG police included the then Punjab Counter Terrorism Department Additional IG Nasir Khan Durrani, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Nasim ul Zaman and Additional IG Khalid Masood.
Reports also revealed that Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif was reluctant to let go Nasir Durrani because of his highly professional reputation and good performance.
