Killing of Mehsud can delay talks for few days: Fazl

ISLAMABAD - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday hinted that the talks process could be delayed for few days due to recent drone attacks, which caused killing of five people, including TTP Chief Hakimullah Mehsud in North Waziristan.
“The death of Hakimullah Massod has led to creation of an emotional environment,” said Maulana, adding that the enemies of peace and reconciliation should not be allowed to succeed.   The JUI-F chief was of the view that drone attack has undermined the efforts of peace. “This tragedy should not shake the resolve of the nation for reconciliation,” he said. Maulana further asked the government that it should not waiver on its commitment and resolve and be ready for talks. It is relevant to note here that Maulana had not expressed satisfaction over the government homework regarding dialogue with Taliban but also extended support at every stage.
