KARACHI - A cop and a couple were killed here on Saturday.
A policeman Shah Muhammad was shot dead near Safora Chowk within the jurisdictions of Sachal police station.
Police officials said the victim was travelling in a cab when at least two armed men riding a motorcycle targeted him. He was shot multiple times. He died on the spot. The body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy. Shah was posted to Crime Branch about three months back from Sachal police station. The actual motive behind the killing has yet to be ascertained.
A newly-wed couple was found dead in their rented house in Saeedabad area of Baldia Town. They were identified as Naqabullah, 23, and his wife Sara, 20. Police found the bodies after the locals informed them. The bodies were taken to Civil Hospital for autopsy. Police officials said the couple was hailed from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Baldia Division SP Malik Ehsan said they got freewill marriage after eloping. Some unidentified persons entered their house and slaughtered both of them before fleeing. The officer suspected involvement of their families in the incident. Further investigation was underway while the bodies were shifted to morgue after autopsy.A man was shot dead in Korangi area.
