Youm-e-Tashakur ceremony underway at Pakistan Monument

The main ceremony of Youm-e-Tashakur is underway at the Pakistan Monument, celebrating the success of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by opening speeches, a flypast, and national songs.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is attending as the chief guest, alongside the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, services chiefs, federal cabinet members, foreign diplomats, and other dignitaries.

The nation is observing Youm-e-Tashakur (Thanksgiving Day) to commemorate Pakistan’s success over India in Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.

The day began with special prayers and recitation of the Holy Quran in mosques across the country. A 31-gun salute was held in the federal capital, while provincial capitals marked the occasion with 21-gun salutes.

In Karachi, a special ceremony took place at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam. Karachi Corps Commander Lt Gen Awais Dastagir laid a floral wreath at the Founder’s grave and offered Fateha in tribute.
