Attock - On the instructions of the Punjab government, Thanksgiving Day was celebrated in Attock district like the rest of the country for achieving a historic victory against India. A special ceremony was organized by the district administration in Jinnah Hall Attock. Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza, DPO Dr. Ghiyas Gul Khan, PML-N local leader Malik Hameed Akbar hoisted national flag.
In the ceremony, police, Rescue 1122, and civil defense presented a guard of honor and saluted the national flag.
On the occasion, the citizens paid tribute to the Pakistani armed forces with enthusiasm.
ADCG Attock Anil Saeed, AC Attock Anza Abbasi, CEO Education Dr. Muhammad Akhlaq, DEOs Miss Dur e shahwar, Syed Muhammad Taqi, Dr. Fayyaz Bukhari, Chaudhry Sajid Mahmood, DSP CTD Attock Khan Shabbir, Chief Officer District Council Khan Badshah, Deputy Director Social Welfare Arif Mahmood Siddiqui, Principal Government MC High School Muhammad Arif, Dy DEO Abid Khan, heirs of Malik Mehboob Elahi, who was recently martyred in an Indian drone attack and other martyrs, students and teachers of various schools of Attock district attended the ceremony.
The students presented speeches, tableaus, and national songs and received great appreciation from the participants.
Addressing the ceremony, ADCG Anil Saeed, Malik Hameed Akbar Khan and Dr. Fayyaz Bukhari, paid tribute to the leadership and soldiers of the armed forces in golden words and said that our armed forces have made the entire nation proud and stunned the world.
The speakers said that our defence forces gave a befitting reply and has taught the enemy a lesson which our enemy will remember till dooms day.
Later, a rally was taken out from Jinnah Hall to Kutchery Chowk.
The day began in the district with recitation of the Holy Quran and special prayers in mosques. The entire nation celebrated the Thanksgiving Day on the successful Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos of the Pakistan Army. National flags have been hoisted on all government, semi-government and private buildings of the district.
