Janbaz remembered

LAHORE - The Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust and Pakistan Movement Workers Trust jointly held a special sitting to pay tribute to Pakistan Movement veteran Muhammad Idrees Janbaz at the Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan on Saturday. TheNation Editor-in-Chief Dr Majid NIzami chaired the session while Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique was guest of honour. Noted personalities Shahid Rasheed, Hafiz Shafiqur Rehman,
 Aziz Zaffar Azad, Nadim Bhatti, Shoib Janbaz, Rana Muhamad Arshad, Ghulam Hussain Shahid, Saba Sadiq, Tariq Azhari, Aslam Zar were among the speakers. A good number of students from various institutes join in.
Delivering his presidential address, Dr Nizami said Janbaz was a role model for the youth. He stressed the need for following in the footsteps of such legends. Saad Rafique termed Janbaz a ‘darvesh’.  He said legends like Janbaz led the life for causes of promoting Islamic values. He regretted that extremists were stopped to force their agenda in the name of religion.
He went on to say: “Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah advocates for following the rules. Extremists have bent upon violating the constitution and the writ of the state.”
However, he reiterated his government’s resolve to bring about a change, saying that by bettering infrastructure and developing strategically-important routes, the country can have growth. Shahid Rasheed thanked the audience and praised Dr Nizami for keeping alive the names of heroes. The other speakers called the veteran a beacon in the society..
