Acid attacks

The culture of acid throwing is becoming very common in Pakistan, and acid throwing is a form of violence. Mostly the women are the victim of acid attacks, and acid are thrown on faces which cause blindness and permanent burns on the face and the body. It is estimated that every year around 400 women are the victim of acid attacks perpetrated by their husband or in-laws.

Some other reasons behind on such brutal incidents are avenge for the refusal of sexual advances, proposal of marriage, demand for dowry and property disputes. Still the whole cases are not reported as women feared to show their faces or they know that they would not receive justice. Most of the victims cannot afford to treat themselves, and continue to suffer till death. I request the concern authorities to stop such unbearable crimes and ensure full safety of the women.
